About
Hi, my name is Abby Levin. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been in the field since 2014.
I obtained my B.S. in Psychology from The University of Illinois (Champaign) and my Master’s in Clinical Social Work from The University of Chicago. To further my training, I completed a fellowship in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy at The University of Chicago in Spring 2024.
My previous work experience includes a variety of treatment settings, including intensive levels of care for mood disorder and eating disorder treatment, and multiple outpatient private practices. I have extensive experience facilitating individual and group therapy, as well as leading didactic groups for clinicians.

My Approach
I strive to be a perceptive, compassionate, and thoughtful therapist. Our work together will be largely collaborative. My aim is to create a space for you that feels safe, nurturing, and one in which you can truly grow.
I utilize an integrative approach, largely rooted in third wave cognitive behavioral therapy practices. My treatment approach is tailored to fit your specific needs. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) methods.
Our sessions will explore the areas that you want to create meaningful change in. We will work together to understand your patterns and tendencies. After identifying the areas in your life that are currently bringing you pain, we will then help you relate to this pain in new ways, so that you have less emotional suffering.
Through our work, you will build insight about your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors, and learn evidence-based coping strategies to help you navigate life more comfortably.
Our sessions will often involve unique therapeutic metaphors, new ways of relating to your thinking patterns, and exercises to build present- moment awareness. My hope is that you will leave every session with a stronger understanding of yourself.
